Managing your subscription
Subscriptions in Instroc are designed to be predictable: upgrades are instant and generous, downgrades never take anything away early, and cancelling always waits for the time you have already paid for. This page covers where billing lives, how each change behaves, and what you can always count on.
Where to manage billing
Your subscription lives on the Billing & Plans page at /billing, where you can manage your subscription and credits. The same controls are available from the dashboard under settings, in the billing tab. Instroc Cloud funds are managed separately on the Cloud page.
Only the workspace owner can change billing. Collaborators, including admins, can build and publish but cannot switch plans, buy credits, or update payment details for a workspace they do not own.
Subscribing
Moving from Free to a paid plan happens right on the billing page: pick a plan, choose monthly or yearly (yearly saves 20%), and check out. Your new credits are available immediately and the plan's features, like code editing and badge removal, unlock right away. The plan comparison is on the Plans page, and current prices are always at instroc.com/pricing.
Upgrading
Upgrades take effect immediately. You are charged the full price of the new plan today, and your billing cycle resets so today becomes your new renewal date. The remaining time on your old plan is not refunded, but you are compensated in a better way: credits are additive.
Additive means you keep your current credit balance and receive the new plan's full monthly allocation on top. Nothing you had is replaced or reset. The confirmation dialog spells it out: you will be charged now for the month, your billing cycle resets to today, the new plan's credits are available immediately, and any unused credits from your current plan carry over.
Because credits are additive, upgrading mid-build is safe. If you are halfway through a big project and running low, upgrading gives you the new allocation instantly without losing what is left.
Downgrading
Downgrades are scheduled, never immediate. When you choose a lower plan, the change is queued for the end of your current billing period, and until then you keep everything: your current plan's credits, features, and limits stay exactly as they are. You paid for the period, so you get the whole period.
When the period ends, the new plan takes over with its own allocation and limits going forward.
Cancelling
To cancel, open the billing portal with the Manage button on your Current Plan card. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period, and your account then drops to the Free plan. Until that date, your paid plan continues unchanged.
After the switch, your projects, published apps, and data all remain. You are simply operating under Free plan rules: the daily message limit applies, code editing becomes read-only, and published apps show the Instroc badge. Anything that no longer fits the Free tier is handled gracefully, as described below.
What never happens
A few guarantees hold no matter how you change plans.
No credit clawbacks. Paid balances are never taken back. Credits you bought in packs never expire, and bonus credits stay yours.
Over-cap workspaces are not deleted. If a downgrade leaves you with more workspaces or collaborators than the new plan allows, nothing is removed. Your data and your team stay intact.
Caps only block new actions. Being over a limit means you cannot add more (a new workspace, another collaborator) until you are back under it, either by removing some or upgrading again. Existing work is never touched.
Downgrades are never applied early. The scheduled date is the date, full stop.
Invoices and history
The billing page keeps your paper trail. You will find your invoices there for accounting, along with an activity history showing plan changes, credit purchases, and renewals. If an invoice looks wrong or you need a correction, contact [email protected] and include the invoice number.
