Public profiles

Every Instroc user can have a public builder profile: a page that shows who you are, what you have shipped, and how consistently you build. Profiles are opt-in, and yours goes live the moment you claim a username.

Your profile URL​

Claim a username and your profile is available at:

instroc.com/@yourusername

Usernames are lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens, up to 39 characters. The claim field checks availability as you type, so you know immediately whether the name is free.

What a profile shows​

A public profile is a compact portfolio, generated from what you actually do on Instroc:

  • Who you are. Your avatar, name, username, a short bio (up to 160 characters), your location, website, and optional GitHub and X links.
  • Your building stats. Four cards: daily average edits, days active this year, current streak, and total edits, plus a contribution-style activity heatmap of your building history.
  • Published Projects. Your live, public apps, newest first. Private apps and drafts never appear.
  • Published Templates. Templates you have shared in the community gallery.

Because only published public apps are listed, the page stays safe to share: nothing in progress or private leaks onto it.

Setting up and editing your profile​

Go to Settings, Profile tab in the dashboard and find the Public Profile card:

  1. Choose your username. The field shows your future URL as you type.
  2. Fill in your bio, location, website, and social usernames.
  3. Pick a visibility: Public (anyone can view your profile) or Private (only you can view it).
  4. Click Save Profile.

You can also edit the same details from your own profile page with the Edit Profile button. Setting visibility to Private keeps your username reserved while hiding the page; visitors see a simple "This profile is private" notice instead.

Why claim one​

A profile gives you one link that represents you as a builder. It is the natural thing to put in a social bio or send to a client: instead of one app link, they see everything you have shipped, with proof you build regularly. If you publish templates, the profile also becomes your storefront in the community, since every template links back to its author.
